5 Signs You Need a New Industrial Pressure Washer

Here at Rhinowash, we pride ourselves on the quality of our industrial pressure washers. After 40 years in the business of both designing and manufacturing pressure washers, we consider ourselves experts on the matter and our pressure washers have evolved over the years to the highest of standards.

With that said, we also understand that it is inevitable that sometimes pressure washers may require repairs to prolong their life span or may need to be replaced all together.

In this blog we explore the five most common faults that affect pressure washers, how to avoid these, and some quick fixes you can try before you call in the experts.

1. Leaking

Water leaking from the pressure washer is one of the most common issues we hear customers complain about. This can be from the pump, burner, seals or hydraulics. This can occur after a pressure washer has been left idle and unprotected over a cold winter period, so we would always advise that you keep your pressure washer secure in a frost-free environment and to make sure that you have drained it before storing it away.

2. Sudden Shut Down

If your pressure washer shuts off without warning, check the simple things like:

Is the water turned on?

Is there power available?

Are there any new accessories fitted?

A common issue we see is when inadequate accessories are supplied, which can result in your equipment becoming overloaded and causing extensive repair bills as a result. If you find your equipment has tripped, we recommend getting in touch with your service provider.

3. Low Pressure

More often than not, low pressure can be caused by either dirt, limescale or a failing pump.

Dirt and limescale can build up over a period of time, so we recommend checking water filters and descaling when required. If you’re unsure on how to do this, you should check with the manufacturers guidelines or call your local agent to assess.

4. Pulsating

If you notice your pressure washer is pulsating, this could be a simple fix such as your high-pressure nozzle needing cleaned out. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, we would advise you get in touch with a trusted Repair agent.

5. Main components exposed

If your pressure washer is being exposed to high-pressure water and detergents daily and you find that the enclosure is being structurally compromised through corrosion or usage, then it’s definitely time to get a new pressure washer.
